Dr. Nicole Basa is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Certified in Breast Ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons and is fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive Surgery at UCLA. Dr. Basa is the Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Texas A&M University and graduated at the top of her General Surgery class at USC. For the last three years in a row Dr. Basa has been awarded the Patients Choice Award from Vitals.com, which is given to fewer than 5% of the physicians in the country.
The first and currently the only breast surgeon in Austin and the surrounding areas to be certified in Breast Ultrasound.
Dr. Basa is a member of The American Society of Breast Surgeons and performs breast surgeries for treatment of breast cancer such as mastectomies and lumpectomies.
She also treats non-malignant breast masses and uses the latest in ultrasound imaging technology. She is able to perform ultrasound guided breast cyst aspiration and small mass removals in the office by using the Terason Ultrasound Imaging System. This saves our patient’s time and resources by having their ultrasound done by the surgeon, in the surgeons office. Many patients can get the necessary biopsy, cyst aspiration or removal of a mass during the same visit without being referred out to a radiology facility and then waiting for the results to come back.
